Accra: A video of the founder of Wordlight Revival Centre, Prophet Clement Testimony, predicting a poor performance for the Black Stars at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup has resurfaced after Ghana qualified for the knockout stages. The video, shared by Metro TV on June 27, 2026, features the prophet discussing the national team's prospects on the show Good Afternoon Ghana.
According to Ghana Web, Prophet Clement Testimony expressed certainty that the Black Stars would not progress beyond the group stage. During the interview, he confidently stated, "They [Black Stars] will not go anywhere. They will not go anywhere. If you say they will not go anywhere, you should know. They will not go anywhere." He further insisted that the team would not have a successful campaign and advised Ghanaians to brace themselves for an early exit after the group matches.
Despite being questioned by the host about the possibility of Ghana qualifying, the prophet remained firm in his prediction, asserting, "We are here, we will see. Nobody loves Ghana more than me in this nation." Prophet Testimony attributed his conviction to certain unspecified actions that he believed the authorities failed to undertake, which he felt would lead to the team's underperformance.
He elaborated, "The things that were supposed to be done were not done, so from where I sit, I don't see them doing well. I don't see us going beyond the group stages. That's it." The prophet also suggested that the predicted outcome would serve as a necessary lesson, stating, "No, you see, sometimes God must show something so that people must learn the hard way. When they learn the hard way, next time they won't make such an error."
However, contrary to his prophecy, the Black Stars have defied expectations by securing a place in the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana's journey included a 1-0 victory over Panama, a 0-0 draw with England, and a 2-1 loss to Croatia, results that were sufficient to advance them to the round of 32.
