Accra: Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon and Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, has announced a series of initiatives to enable residents of the constituency to follow Ghana's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Ghana Web, Dumelo shared in a post on X on Thursday, June 11, 2026, that he had covered the cost of DStv subscriptions at television viewing centres across Ayawaso West. This initiative aims to facilitate access to World Cup matches for the residents. Additionally, Dumelo has arranged for the installation of free giant screens at selected locations within the constituency. These screens will be available at Abelemkpe Astro Turf Park, Mempasem, Airport Residential Area, West Legon, and Dzorwulu for all Ghana matches, while a separate screen at Okponglo will broadcast all matches throughout the tournament.
Dumelo also announced that he had partnered with 13 kenkey sellers in the constituency to provide free meals consisting of kenkey and fish for residents attending the Ghana match viewing events. He described this initiative as a gesture of support for the community as they cheer on the Black Stars during the tournament.
The MP concluded his announcement with a message of support for the national team, encouraging Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars throughout the competition.
