Keta: Mr. Wisdom Seade, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Volta Region, has extended financial support amounting to GHS10,000 to Keta Football Club (FC) as they prepare for the Volta Regional Division Two Middle League. The support was officially handed over during a brief ceremony at the Keta Municipal Assembly Hall, coinciding with the Volta Regional Football Association trophy tour.
According to Ghana News Agency, the ceremony witnessed the presence of Keta FC's management, players, and technical team, all gathered to receive the assistance aimed at facilitating their participation in the upcoming competition. Mr. Seade highlighted that the gesture was intended to aid the team in managing logistics and covering other expenses essential for their smooth involvement in the league.
Mr. Seade stated that this financial backing is part of the Assembly's ongoing efforts to foster sports development within the municipality. He emphasized the importance of discipline in sports, urging the players and management to maintain it consistently, as it is crucial for achieving success both on and off the field. He also pointed out that football holds the potential to unite the community and enhance the municipality's image both within and beyond the region.
Encouraging the team to exhibit good sportsmanship, Mr. Seade stressed that respect for opponents, officials, and supporters holds as much significance as winning. He also lauded the technical team, management, and players for their contributions to elevating Keta's profile in the sporting arena and motivated them to continue working diligently to bring pride to the municipality.
Expressing his confidence in the team's capabilities, Mr. Seade urged them to remain focused and determined to achieve promotion to Division One. He reiterated that sports development is a crucial part of the Assembly's larger plan to engage the youth and foster community growth.
Mr. Franklin Deynu, General Secretary of Keta FC, received the financial support on behalf of the club and expressed gratitude to the MCE for the timely aid. He described the support as a morale booster and assured that the team is committed to justifying the trust placed in them by aiming for victory in the competition. Mr. Deynu also called upon fans and stakeholders to support the team throughout the tournament.
The Ghana News Agency noted that Keta FC, established in 2023, is participating for the second time in the Volta Regional Division Two Middle League, with aspirations of qualifying for Division One.
