Accra: The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) has announced the schedule for the upcoming elections to appoint new executives for the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), set for June 4, 2026.
According to Ghana News Agency, the elections will adhere to the GBA Constitution and the GBIMC's endorsed election roadmap. Positions open for contest include president, first vice-president, second vice-president, four executive board members, and treasurer. Prospective candidates can obtain nomination forms starting May 14, with a submission deadline of May 19, 2026.
The GBIMC plans to publish the official list of candidates between May 22 and May 23, 2026. The committee's statement clarified that only members and affiliated associations in good standing, who are fully registered, licensed, and without arrears, will be eligible to vote. Accredited delegates must be duly nominated and submitted to the GBIMC secretariat by May 19, 2026.
A three-member elections committee, chaired by Mr. Samir Captan, GBIMC Chairman, will be announced shortly to oversee the election process. The committee will provide detailed guidelines and procedures in an elections modalities kit, which will accompany the official nomination forms.
