Kacstone Records Pledges GHS17,000 Sponsorship for Kassena-Nankana West Division Three League

Paga: Kacstone Records, a music and cultural development company, has announced its commitment to sponsor the Kassena-Nankana West District Division Three League for the upcoming season with a funding package of GHS17,000.00 aimed at supporting grassroots football development.

According to Ghana News Agency, the sponsorship is intended to cover officiating fees and alleviate the financial pressure on clubs participating in the district league. Mr. Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, Managing Director of Kacstone Records, made this announcement during a coronation match between Paga Japan Sporting Club and Nyangania Alpha FC at Paga, where Paga Japan Sporting Club clinched the championship title for the 2025/2026 season with 21 points.

Mr. Aborah remarked that the company's decision to back the league stemmed from recognizing the lack of financial support for talented footballers in rural communities, which often leads to young players losing interest in the sport. He emphasized the importance of collective support to prevent rural talents from going unnoticed and to cultivate more quality players from villages.

He further highlighted football's potential to create opportunities beyond sports, such as employment in security services, and urged corporate bodies, individuals, and stakeholders to contribute to grassroots football development. Mr. Aborah also stressed the significance of emotional and social support in encouraging youth to remain dedicated and develop their talents.

Mr. Jamil Atipaga, Chairman of the Kassena-Nankana West District Football Association, expressed that the sponsorship would be a significant relief for clubs struggling with financial constraints, which often led to teams withdrawing due to the inability to cover officiating fees and other costs. He noted that this is the first instance in the Upper East Region where a company has sponsored the Division Three League, expressing gratitude for Kacstone Records' support.

Mr. Yizura Donald, Coach of Mirigu FC, and Mr. Abubakar Adama Zongo, Assistant Coach of Paga Japan Sporting Club, echoed the sentiment, acknowledging financial challenges as a major barrier for local clubs and appreciating the relief provided by Kacstone Records. They both reiterated the role of football in engaging youth and keeping them away from social vices, calling for further support from organizations.
