Tema: The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has donated an undisclosed cash amount to the Tema Traditional Council (TTC) to aid in the preparations for the 2026 Kpelejoo Festival.
According to Ghana News Agency, this contribution aims to support the cultural heritage of the community, foster unity, and strengthen relationships with traditional authorities. The donation was presented by Madam Ebi Bright, the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, who emphasized the assembly's commitment to maintaining peaceful coexistence among residents during the celebrations.
Madam Bright urged the youth and traditional authorities to conduct the festival in moderation to avoid any negative repercussions on the community's image. She stressed the importance of celebrating the festival peacefully, with a focus on promoting cultural heritage, unity, development, and stability rather than conflict.
Nii Adjetey Agbo II, the Tema Mankralo and acting President of the Tema Traditional Council, received the donation on behalf of the council. He expressed gratitude to the TMA for their support, highlighting the Kpelejoo Festival as an important event for showcasing the cultural values of the Ga people, fostering community pride, and attracting tourism.
