Krachi East MP Boosts Healthcare with Medical Equipment Donation


Krachi east: Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East constituency, has donated a range of medical equipment to the Municipal Health Directorate to improve healthcare delivery in the area. The items presented include three washing machines, three tabletop refrigerators, a photocopier, five blood pressure apparatus, ten infrared thermometers, five haemoglobin (Hb) machines, ten glucometers, a sterilizer machine, ten weighing scales, five Veronica buckets, and a dressing set.



According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Djabab reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing healthcare services in his constituency. He noted that his office remains focused on promoting the well-being of residents, particularly through improved access to quality healthcare. As part of ongoing efforts, the MP is overseeing the construction of a health facility at Monkrate, a farming and fishing community, and has also awarded a contract for an accident and emergency unit at the Dambai Polyclinic. These projects are expected to not only improve healthcare access but also create employment opportunities and stimulate local economic growth.



The Municipal Health Director, Mr Abdul Muttalib Amin, expressed appreciation for the support, describing the donation as timely and impactful. He indicated that the equipment would significantly strengthen service delivery within the municipality, particularly in maternal and child healthcare. Mr Amin also highlighted ongoing plans by the MP to construct an accident and emergency unit at the Dambai Polyclinic and revive the abandoned KODA project with support from the Municipal Assembly. He appealed to stakeholders, philanthropists, and organisations to assist in addressing infrastructure deficits within the municipality.



According to him, a holistic approach encompasses infrastructure, equipment, and human resource development which is essential for sustainable healthcare improvement. The Municipal Health Directorate has assured that the donated equipment will be put to effective use with necessary training provided to health personnel. Residents in the area have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about improved healthcare services and outcomes in the municipality.
