Bono Minister Lauds Harmonious Muslim-Christian Relationship

Sunyani: Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, has lauded the harmonious relationship between Muslims and Christians in the region. He emphasized that sustaining and strengthening this peaceful co-existence is essential for the purpose of development.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Akwaboa gave the commendation while addressing hundreds of Muslims at the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration at the Sunyani Jubilee, marking the end of the 2026 Ramadan. He highlighted that the prayers of Muslims significantly contribute to nation-building by promoting peace, discipline, and unity.

Imam Baaba Seidu Haidara, the Bono Regional Chief Imam, noted that Eid Ul-Fitr remains a special occasion on the Islamic calendar. He urged Muslims to uphold the true teachings and values of Islam, emphasizing that those who observed Ramadan faithfully would receive abundant blessings from Allah.

Imam Haidara called on Muslims to remain steadfast in prayers to strengthen the prevailing peace of the nation and seek Allah's blessings. He encouraged them to intercede for the nation and those in authority, praying for a prosperous future.

The Regional Minister, who led a government delegation, contributed to the celebration by donating bags of rice, sugar, boxes of milo, non-alcoholic drinks, and GHS20,000 to support the festivities.
