GFA Addresses Calls for Dede Ayew’s Return to Black Stars

Accra: The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has announced that coach Otto Addo will determine Andr© Dede Ayew's future with the Black Stars.

According to Ghana Web, the GFA values the contributions of the former Olympique Marseille forward, who has captained the national team and set numerous records. However, the GFA's role is to make player recommendations, while the technical team makes the final decision regarding player inclusions.

Otto Addo has named the Black Stars squad for upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany, with Asante Twum emphasizing that the coach has the ultimate authority in player selection. Asante Twum acknowledged fans' calls for Ayew's return but reiterated that the decision lies with the head coach.

The provisional Black Stars FIFA World Cup squad is expected in May, with the final squad announcement slated for June 2026. Despite public interest, Ayew was not included in the squad for the friendlies against Austria and Germany.
