Accra: The Parliament of Ghana has initiated the accreditation process for journalists intending to cover the State of the Nation Address (SONA), which is scheduled to be delivered by President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, February 27, 2026.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement was issued by Mr. David Sebastian Damoah, the Director of Media Relations for the Parliamentary Service. The statement outlined certain guidelines to streamline the accreditation process. Journalists not affiliated with the Parliamentary Press Corps are required to submit their applications to the Director of Media Relations by Tuesday, February 24, 2026, if they wish to cover the event.
The guidelines also specify designated areas for media personnel and mention that the public gallery will be reserved for invited guests. Accreditation will be mandatory for access, and there will be security screenings conducted.
