1977-Year Group of Ketasco Old Students Launch 50th Anniversary

Keta: The 1977-year group of Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) has launched its 50th anniversary celebrations in Keta, Volta Region, marking a significant milestone in their journey. According to Ghana News Agency, the launching of the event brought together esteemed members of the year's group, alumni, staff, and invited guests to commemorate five decades of shared experiences, achievements, and bonds of friendship. Dr John Kwaku Amaglo, Past President of Ghana Institution of Surveyors and Deputy Director of Jeoamah Geomatics Consults Limited, who was the guest speaker, described the occasion as a testament to the bonds of friendship, shared values, and achievements of the cohort over nearly five decades. 'The 1977-year group has produced distinguished professionals, including doctors, lawyers, engineers, educators, business leaders, and public servants, who have made contributions to Ghana's development, we are proud of you,' he said. Dr Amaglo praised the group's achievements, attributing them to the qu ality of education and mentorship received at Ketasco and urged them to continue the good work for the development and progress of the school. He explained that the anniversary celebration would provide an opportunity for the group to reconnect, reminisce, and reflect on their experiences over the years and help inculcate them in the next generations. Reverend Dr Amegashiti-Elorm Sylvanus, the Chairman of the occasion, in his speech, commended the 1977-year group for their determinations, dedication, and spirit of giving back to their alma mater. He said the legacy of the group had testified the transformative power of education, providing an opportunity to reconnect with friends and honour memories of those no longer present. Mr Dogba John Korbla, President of the year's group, thanked the members for their constant support and appealed to them to keep supporting each other for the progress of the school. He said the main 50th anniversary would take place next year and urged other old students to rally beh ind the 1977-year group for a smooth and successful celebration that would enable rebranding Ketasco for the best for next generations unborn. Mr Innocent Augustt, the Headmaster of Ketasco, praised the 1977 old students and other year groups for their support to the school, which had transformed Ketasco and made it one of the best schools in the country. He said that Ketasco faced challenges that required alumni support, and the group's involvement could make a difference, and the story of the 1977 Year group would continue to inspire current students and the younger generation through their dedication and perseverance.
