Jinijini: Mr. Dickson Kwabena Kyere-Duah, Member of Parliament for Berekum West, has dedicated GHS200,000 from his MP's Education Fund to assist needy but talented students in pursuing tertiary education within the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, the announcement was made at a gathering in Jinijini, near Berekum in the Bono Region. The event was attended by local chiefs, NDC party executives, and the District Chief Executive, Mr. Collins Asomah. The MP highlighted his dedication to educational development and noted that 42 students have already benefited from his fund.
Mr. Kyere-Duah stated that the GHS200,000 allocation would support students, including a medical student, until they graduate from tertiary institutions. He also assured the constituents of the impending commencement of the Jinijini-Sampa highway construction. This project is part of the Big Push initiative aimed at enhancing market accessibility, facilitating trade, and improving health services in the area.
Mr. Asomah, the District Chief Executive, emphasized the district's ongoing contributions, which include school infrastructure development, street lighting, and the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHIP) compound, fulfilling promises made to the community.
