EC Sets December 30 for Kpandai Parliamentary Election Rerun

Tamale: The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the parliamentary election rerun in the Kpandai Constituency is scheduled for December 30, 2025. This decision comes in compliance with a High Court ruling in Tamale, which on November 24, 2025, ordered a rerun within 30 days.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the EC, revealed the rerun was also initiated following formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9, 2025. The notification declared the Kpandai parliamentary seat vacant, confirming the creation of a vacancy in the Membership of Parliament due to the court's directive.

The Electoral Commission clarified that the rerun would include only the three candidates who participated in the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency. This decision aligns with the court's instructions, ensuring a fair continuation of the electoral process.
