Accra: The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will conduct a rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. In a statement signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director in charge of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation on December 10, 2025, the EC confirmed the decision to hold a new election following a court directive.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Tamale High Court's ruling on November 24, 2025, mandated a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency Parliamentary Election to occur within thirty days. The court's decision came after a formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9, 2025, which informed the Commission about a vacancy in the Membership of Parliament, rendering the seat in the Constituency vacant.
The EC's statement emphasized that the rerun would involve only the three candidates who participated in the 2024 Parliamentary Election in the Constituency.
