Accra: Akrofi-Christaller Institute (ACI) of Theology, Mission, and Culture has held its 19th graduation ceremony, conferring degrees on 50 students. Among the graduates, 39 received Master of Arts in Theology and Mission, five earned Master of Theology in African Christianity and Biblical translation and interpretations, and six completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Theology. According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Prof. Philip Laryea, the Rector of ACI, addressed the assembly, highlighting that the institute, established by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, aims to foster African innovation and excellence in theological research. ACI provides a range of programmes for Christians seeking to deepen their understanding of theology in mission work, including frontline ministers like pastors and evangelists. Rev. Prof. Laryea elaborated on the institute's history, noting its inception in 1987 as a research center offering mission and culture training to agents of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Now, ACI is fu lly accredited to deliver postgraduate academic programmes and Continuing Education programmes for the church. Additionally, the institute recently received a grant from Scholar Leaders International to enhance its Information and Communication Technology infrastructure, addressing internal internet challenges. Moreover, Rev. Prof. Laryea appealed for further financial support to bolster online activities at the institute. ACI also offers an array of certificate programmes such as Certificate in Christian Mission and Evangelism, Certificate in Christian-Muslim Relations, Certificate in African Christian Creation Care Studies, and Certificate in Bible and Science.
