According to ghana news agency:aduguh highlighted the unique hands-on skills imparted by HTU and encouraged students to utilize the resources they have been exposed to during their studies. She warned that neglecting these skills could lead to missed opportunities and the need to relearn them later at a cost. She stressed the significance of branding, consistency, and resilience in distinguishing graduates of technical universities from those of traditional institutions.
Mrs Art-Maduguh also underscored the value of small beginnings and networking, citing her own experience in building her fashion brand, Letido, from humble origins. She urged graduates to remain disciplined and focused, acknowledging the challenges of entrepreneurship but affirming its potential rewards.
Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga, Vice-Chancellor of HTU, commended the 1,869 graduates for their perseverance and highlighted the University's significant advancements. He noted improvements in faculty qualifications, governance, research output, and international collaborations, positioning HTU as the top-ranked Technical University in Ghana.
However, Prof Honyenuga also pointed out challenges such as inadequate residential facilities, limited financial resources, and the absence of a teaching hotel for certain programs. He emphasized the need to address these issues to sustain HTU's progress and continue delivering quality education.
Prof Smile Gavua Dzisi, Chairperson of the University Governing Council, expressed gratitude for government support and stressed the importance of addressing infrastructure deficits. She assured that strategic measures would be pursued to meet the growing needs of the University.
Valedictorian Ms Nancy Agyeman Duah, a BTech Hospitality Management graduate, expressed gratitude for the MTN Bright Scholarship, which supported her studies. She encouraged corporate investment in education and urged her peers to maintain connections and uphold values as they enter the professional world.
