Kwadaso MP Advocates for Peaceful Elections, Urges Youth to Reject Violence.

Kumasi: Professor Kingsley Nyarko, Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, has called on Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to resist being used as instruments of violence in the run-up to the December 7 elections. He emphasized the importance of avoiding inflammatory remarks that could incite violence, thereby safeguarding the nation's democracy and preserving its enduring peace. According to Ghana News Agency, Professor Nyarko highlighted the upcoming elections as an opportunity to showcase Ghana's dedication to democratic governance. "The upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections are to deepen and protect our democracy and ensure that we decide in the best way for our dear country Ghana," he stated. He urged citizens not to succumb to negative influences from politicians or individuals that could undermine the progress achieved on the democratic front. Professor Nyarko, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of TVET, stressed the significance of exercising voting rights in a mann er that benefits communities and the nation as a whole. He called for collective efforts to safeguard democracy and maintain the peace Ghana has enjoyed over the years. "Let us all do our best to guard our democracy, let us help to protect the peace we have been enjoying all these years. We have only one country; only one Ghana. Let us protect her, and help to make her prosperous," he urged. He further explained that political figures are not adversaries, but rather allies who engage in rigorous debates on national issues. "I would want us to understand that politicians aren't enemies; we are friends; we are brothers and sisters. We debate fiercely; we agree and disagree on matters; we disagree to agree at times on difficult national issues through consensus building. These don't make us enemies. We share different ideas; different perspectives all geared towards making our dear country a better place for us all. In fact, we dine together," Professor Nyarko elaborated. In conclusion, the Deputy Minister app ealed to Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party's presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming elections. "I would plead, that you vote my presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be the next President of the Republic of Ghana; and I, Kingsley Nyarko, to continue as the MP for Kwadaso based on our respective contributions to the progress of our dear country through our noticeable works," he concluded.
