Accra: The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday, October 29, visited the Mamprobi Tuesday Market to interact with traders as part of his 'meet-and-greet' session. Dr Bawumia was accompanied by Mr Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the Party, Mr Samuel Sarbah Lartey, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma South and other constituency executives of the NPP. According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Bawumia received a warm reception from the market women, who greeted him with shouts and cheers of 'It's Possible' and 'Number One'. Following his visit to the Mamprobi Tuesday Market, Dr Bawumia proceeded to the Makola 31st December Market in the Odododiodio constituency, where he engaged with traders, exchanging handshakes and embraces. The traders, some of whom held NPP paraphernalia and souvenirs, greeted him with enthusiasm, chanting slogans such as 'Dr Bawumia is number one, it's possible, Free SHS, Agenda 111'. The campaign entourage also made a s top at the Kantamanto Market in the Central Business District of Accra, known for its second-hand clothes trade. Dr Bawumia's 'meet-and-greet' sessions have become a key component of his campaign strategy, allowing him to directly engage with potential voters ahead of the December 7 polls. While visiting the Okaishie Market, the session was momentarily disrupted by rain at around 11:10 hours. The campaign tour continued at the Agbogbloshie Market in the Odododiodio constituency of the Greater Accra Region. At each market centre, traders and bystanders welcomed Dr Bawumia, acknowledging policies and social interventions from the Akufo-Addo-led government.
