Accra: The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the reassignment of ballot paper printing responsibilities for the Oti and Western North regions due to a technical fault at Yasarko Press, one of its contracted printing houses. This development comes as Yasarko Press withdraws from its contract for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. According to Ghana News Agency, the decision follows the malfunction of a critical piece of equipment at Yasarko Press, which was initially tasked with printing the ballot papers for the two regions. In a press release signed by Mr. Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairperson of the EC in charge of Operations, and disseminated to the media, the EC confirmed its swift action in reallocating the printing duties to Buck Press and Acts Commercials for the Oti and Western North regions, respectively. The press release emphasized that both Buck Press and Acts Commercials possess the necessary expertise to handle the task, assuring that the change will not disrupt the print ing schedule for the upcoming elections. Furthermore, the EC has communicated the change to all political parties and independent candidates participating in the 2024 General Election.
