Agona east: First time voters in the Agona East Constituency have been urged to cast their ballots for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and Mrs. Hannah Asamoah as MP in the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections. According to Mrs. Asamoah, the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Agona East, voting for her and Dr. Bawumia would not only bring jobs but also instill hope for a better future. According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Asamoah made this appeal while addressing supporters during a campaign float in Agona Duakwa, Central Region, which also marked the launch of the "Friends of Hannah Asamoah" initiative. This movement aims to recapture the parliamentary seat for the NPP in the elections slated for December 7, 2024. She emphasized her commitment to job creation, particularly for the youth, who form a significant portion of her constituency's population. Further detailing her agenda, Mrs. Asamoah highlighted her priorities which include securing financial support for women traders in Agona East, enabling them to expand their businesses and provide for their families. Additionally, she plans to attract both local and foreign investors to the constituency to support agriculture and reduce post-harvest losses. Contrasting her party's vision with that of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs. Asamoah criticized the NDC for lacking beneficial policies for first-time voters and the youth. She emphasized that the Agona East constituency has suffered from a lack of employment opportunities and adequate support for farmers and women under the current NDC leadership. Supporting Mrs. Asamoah's claims, Mr. Kojo Halm, former chairman of the Effutu constituency of the NPP, urged the electorate to dismiss the NDC, criticizing their lack of convincing policies. He reminisced about the social interventions initiated by former President J.A. Kufuor, which he believes significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians. Mr. Robert Baah, the former Agona East Constituency Finan cial Secretary of the NPP, also encouraged voters to support the NPP, dismissing the NDC's campaign as mere propaganda. He expressed confidence that the electorate, recognizing the NPP's track record, would vote for continuity in governance that positively impacts their lives.
