30 Aspirants Vie for NPP Western Regional Executive Positions

Accra: Thirty aspirants have successfully filed their nominations to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western Regional executive positions. Mr Ernest Nkrumah Taylor, the Western Regional NPP Elections and Research Officer, confirmed the development following the close of nominations on Friday, July 17, 2026. Out of the 32 individuals who picked forms to run for various positions, 30 managed to complete the nomination process.

According to Ghana News Agency, the breakdown of the aspirants includes three candidates for the Chairmanship position, two for Secretary, and three for Organiser. Additionally, four individuals have filed for Second Vice Chairman, while the First Vice Chairman position has attracted two candidates. Other positions being contested include Women Organiser and Nasara Coordinator, each with two aspirants. Four individuals are vying for the Youth Organiser position, two for Treasurer, and four are in the race for Deputy Organiser.

Mr Taylor stated that the aspirants would undergo a vetting process scheduled for Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21, 2026. This process will determine the eligibility of the candidates to contest the various positions within the party's regional executive committee.
