Kadjebi: A total of 1,440 candidates, comprising 745 males and 695 females, are expected to sit for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region. The candidates, drawn from 60 Junior High Schools (JHSs)-51 public and nine private schools-will write the examination at six centres across the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Seth Seyram Deh, Kadjebi District Director of Education, disclosed this information in an interview. He stated that six supervisors, six assistant supervisors, and 60 invigilators had been engaged to oversee the smooth conduct of the examination.
Mr. Deh explained that the examination would commence on Monday, May 4, 2026, with English Language Paper Two (Essay) from 0900 hours to 1000 hours, followed by English Language Paper One (Objective) from 1010 hours to 1100 hours. He added that Religious and Moral Education (RME) Paper Two (Essay) would be written from 1300 hours to 1400 hours, followed by Paper One (Objective) from 1400 hours to 1445 hours.
The examination is scheduled to conclude on May 11, 2026, with the Arabic paper set from 0900 hours to 1000 hours. Mr. Deh wished the candidates success in the examination and advised them to avoid examination malpractice.
In previous years, the district presented 1,467 candidates in 2025, made up of 765 males and 702 females, while in 2024, a total of 1,299 candidates, comprising 694 males and 605 females, sat for the examination.
