The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) First Vice Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya Constituency in the Ashanti Region, John Kwame Duodu, (aka Sir John) has urged Ghanaians to save Ghana by rejecting “the corrupt government of the former President John Dramani Mahama.”
According to Sir John, who is also an Ashanti Regional Tescon Patron, giving former President Mahama another chance to lead Ghana as president would spell doom for the nation.
He made these remarks in a statement cited by GhanaWeb, in which he said during Mahama’s first term in office, he made so many mistakes and took a lot of bad decisions that left the country in a bad place.
“It is imperative that we learn from these errors and avoid repeating them by electing a more competent and capable leader on December 7, 2024.
“It is my firm belief that the presidency is not a position for remedial individuals, and therefore, H. E. John Mahama should not be elected for a second term,” parts of the statement read.
Sir John added, ‘One of the main reasons why
Mahama should not be re-elected is his track record of mismanagement and corruption during his first term in office.
“Under his leadership, Ghana experienced a decline in economic growth, skyrocketing inflation rates, and a sharp increase in public debt,’ the statement added.
