Technical education will reduce unemployment rate- Anointed technical Institute?

Accra, Sept. 6, GNA – Mr Samuel Adjei Boateng, Managing Director, Anointed Technical Training Institute (ATTI), says the prioritisation of Technical and Vocational education will put Ghana on the path of massive youth employment.

He stressed that it would provide opportunities for the youth to have hands-on experience, encourag them taste entrepreneurship hence self-employment and joint ventures.

He said this in Accra at the second graduation ceremony of ATTI on the theme: “TVET for Youth Employment and Sustainable Economy.”

The graduating class went through a10-month training in electrical and controls, mechanical engineering among others.

Mr Boateng encouraged the youth to venture into technical and vocational education to gain practical experience and be productive in life.

He said most of the students from technical schools posted to do internship at their Institute lacked practical knowledge hence he decided to establish ATTI to address the gap.

Mr Boateng said the country’s educational system emphasised theory devoid of practical skills and training needed for the job market, leading to limited job creation.

Africa has the youngest population in the world, with 200 million people aged between 15 and 24. This figure is likely to double by 2050 according to the 2012 World Economic Outlook.

Dr Kwadwo Anokye Dompreh, Senior Lecturer, Department of Physics, University of Cape Coast, said TVET was the 21st century course to meet the needs of industry.

He stressed that TVET trained or equipped the youth to pursue self-development, confidence and creativity for the socio-economic growth of the country.

He advised the class to make good use of the knowledge acquired and be ambassadors of technical education.

TVET systems could churn out competent technicians and artisans required in the automobile, road and building construction and sanitation industries.

Master Christian Kusitor, the overall best student, on behalf of the class, thanked the Institute for the opportunity for skills acquisition and values and pledged to ambassadors in all their endeavours.

CL: Chelsea suffer shock defeat at Dinamo Zagreb

Two-time winners Chelsea began their Champions League campaign with a shock defeat at Dinamo Zagreb.

The Croatian champions have a woeful record in this competition – winning just five of 43 games before this meeting – but they stubbornly held on after taking a first-half lead.

The dangerous Mislav Orsic netted the 13th-minute winner, running through from the halfway line and beautifully dinking a finish past the advancing Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Dinamo came agonisingly close to a second but Stefan Ristovski’s thunderous, long-range effort was superbly tipped onto the bar by Arrizabalaga.

Deadline-day signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was handed his Chelsea debut and, although the ex-Arsenal skipper had a goal ruled out for offside, he largely looked off the pace.

Armando Broja replaced Aubameyang just before the hour mark, but the Albanian had little impact in an overall disjointed performance from Thomas Tuchel’s men.

Chelsea launched a late onslaught on Dinamo’s goal and the hosts were relieved to see Reece James’ low shot rattle the foot of the post with five minutes remaining.

Serie A champions AC Milan travel to RB Salzburg (kick-off 20:00 BST) in Group E’s other game.

Empress Gifty’s curvy shape will make evangelism easier – Counsellor Lutterodt shock fans

Despite being trolled by many Ghanaians, gospel musician Empress Gifty has received praise from relationship expert and counsellor, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, better known as Counsellor Lutterodt.

Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, the wife of former NPP Kpone Katamanso parliamentary candidate Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, has recently made headlines for exposing her body unbefitting of a gospel singer.

The most recent was her appearance at reggae musician Stonebwoy’s ‘Ashaiman to the World’ concert wearing leggings and displaying her body shape.

However, the controversial counsellor has rubbished all of the insults and criticisms.

“Empress Gifty God bless you for having a side attraction for Christianity. If we had such people like your evangelism will be easier. God bless you, God bless you, God bless you. God bless you with something pleasing,” he said.

The controversial counsellor also stated that if he could afford it, he would have hired Mrs. Gifty Adorye to perform every Sunday in his church because her body is a side attraction.

“We need a side attraction for the main event. The way Gifty Adorye’s body has turned out, oh God, if not that she was a musician and I can’t pay her every Sunday, I would have made her the ‘Akwaaba’ group leader in my church because Gifty’s body is a side attraction for Christianity. This makes you know that God has created something good,” he stated.

No Ghanaian artiste can ever be compared to my kind of music – Blank Rasta

Veteran Ghanaian reggae dancehall musician and entertainment show host, Abubakar Ahmed, widely referred to as Blakk Rasta, has touted his achievements in music.

According to the reggae oldie, his style of music can never be compared to any Ghanaian artist.

He is concerned, however, that despite making good music, the music industry and Ghanaians as a whole do not recognize his musical prowess but will hypocritically praise him when he is no longer alive.

According to Blakk, his songs are not dominating because Ghanaians have failed to appreciate good music and are not interested in researching to find good things around them.

“When I die, they will come to say that this man was hot…you are an idiot. Idiots will not dig and find the real stuff, they are listening to noise that is inundating the airwaves.

“They are not ready for research The average Ghanaian is not a research animal, no. He consumes what is given to him, he doesn’t pick and choose, no,” he said.

He adds “right now, I have recorded like 60 songs, three albums and I want to release them…you keep them and sleep on them. Now I release them. My brother, I am doing really good music.”
