Former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah has opened up on why he shed tears during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Having led the Black Stars to book qualification for the third time, Ghana opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat against the USA.

However, Kwesi Appiah and his charges drew 2-2 with Germany, a game that was voted the best game of the tournament.

Before the final group game against Portugal, it was reported that the playing body threatened not to train until their appearance fees are paid in full.

Kwesi Appiah was reported to have wept due to the behaviour of the players.

Speaking in an interview, the 62-year-old opened up on why he wept.

“There are some people when they are highly tensed, they cry to take the emotion away,” he told Joy Prime in an interview.

Kwesi Appiah was sacked after the tournament after the Black Stars finished bottom of their group with just a point.
