Accra:A total of 1,568 trained legal professionals were called to the Bar after completing their professional legal training.
According to Ghana News Agency, this figure marks the highest number recorded at the 63rd call to the Bar ceremony, significantly up from the 824 admitted in 2025.
The increase in numbers is attributed to reforms by the General Legal Council aimed at decentralizing legal education and expanding access to professional legal training across the nation.
During the ceremony in Accra, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie advised the new lawyers to prioritize integrity over the rapid dissemination of information. He emphasized, "Do not allow the speed of information to become your judgement. The most important currency of a lawyer is not money, not even knowledge. It is integrity."
Among those called to the Bar were notable figures such as Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, and Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communication and Digital Technology.
The ceremony also saw the admission of media personalities, including Umaru Sanda Amadu of Citi TV, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku of Media General, and veteran journalist Ato Kwamena Dadzie.
