We now have to work tirelessly to win 2021/22 GPL title, says Kotoko captain Abdul Ismail Ganiu after FA Cup exit

Asante Kotoko captain, Abdul Ismail Ganiu has admitted that he and his teammates must work hard to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League following their painful elimination from the MTN FA Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors were crashed out of the competition after losing by a lone goal to city rivals, King Faisal in the Round of 64 games at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Speaking after their exit, the central defender says the team is not happy and has tasked his teammates to work hard to ensure they emerge as the champions of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

“We are not happy about our exit from the FA Cup,” he told the club website.

“We will work harder and keenly contest for the Ghana Premier League trophy,” he added.

Kotoko after 9 matches played sit 2nd on the Premier League log with 20 points with an outstanding game.
