Victims of tidal waves feel neglected for not visiting — Dzifa Gomashie to Akufo-Addo, Ministers

Member of Parliament for Ketu South constituency, Abla Dzifa Gormashie says victims of the tidal waves feel neglected by President Akufo-Addo and his ministers for not showing up to empathise with them.

She said the seeming absence of the President has compelled the people to believe the notion that the Akufo-Addo led government was only interested in their votes.

Speaking with Johnny Hughes of TV3 on Tuesday, she stated, “And I’m calling him this morning again on this medium, Your Excellency, I need that call, I need you to say something. We want to hear you say something,” she said emotionally.

Some persons are expressing dissatisfaction at what they feel is the President’s insensitive to the plight of the victims for not making any single comment regarding the matter.

The Vice President, the Minister of Interior, Minister for National Security, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection whom the victims suggest have a part to play in the situation have not shown up.

However, some persons have argued that the Regional Minister is a rep of the President who is delegated with the powers to handle the situation.

But the Ketu South MP also argues that as a former Deputy Minister she knows the limits of the Regional Minister.

“The person who can listen to him and I is HE President Nana Akufo Addo, he presides over Cabinet, he is the one who gives instructions and everybody must fall in line. Am not calling my colleagues and my compatriots who are perhaps on the same level as me or a little higher than me, no. We all look up to the president,” she emphasised.
