Hearts of Oak: Afriyie Barnieh deserves GPL Best Player of the season award – Inter Allies coach Felix Aboagye

Inter Allies head coach, Felix Aboagye has backed Hearts of Oak striker, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to win the Ghana Premier League best player of the season award.

The Black Satellites forward has been magnificent for the Phobians in the ongoing season.

The striker grabbed the headlines after scoring the only goal against Asante Kotoko in the matchday 31 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to Felix Aboagye, Barnieh has been exceptional to win the most valuable player of the season award and he will be a great asset for the country in the future.

“I think Barnie of Hearts of Oak has been exceptional, scoring important goals for them and he has also been able to carry the team in difficult times so I think he stands out this season to win the best player accolade,” he told Starr Sports.

“Without him, I don’t think Hearts of Oak will be where they are now though it’s a collective effort but he has been incredible this season for them and I think he is indeed one for the future and we need to keep our eyes on him,” Aboagye added.

Barnieh led Ghana’s U-20 side to win the Africa Youth Championship in Mauritania this year.

He will be hoping to continue his fine form when Hearts of Oak host Liberty Professionals on Sunday in the matchday 33 games.

The Phobians need a win to be crowned Ghana Premier League champions for the first time in 12 years.
