Caf Champions League: Midfielder Benjamin Afutu returns to Hearts of Oak squad for Africa campaign

Benjamin Afutu has been named in Hearts of Oak’s squad for the 2021/22 Caf Champions League campaign.

The Ghana Premier League champions submitted 36 players to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for their Champions League campaign.

Benjamin Afutu Kotey was reportedly leaving the club following the expiration of his contract.

Trio Daniel Kodie, Aziz Nurudeen and Mamani Lawali were left out of the squad list due to injuries whiles Abednego Tetteh, Eric Dizan and Abdul Manaf Gumah were excluded from the list.

Also, six Auroras players namely Bernard Obuo, Franklin Owusu, Issah Abukah Issifu, Daniel Yeboah, Benjamin Nana Yeboah, Anwar Abdul Basit were among the Hearts of Oak squad for the 2021/22 CAF Champions League

New signings such as Enock Asubonteng, Gladson Awako, Kofi Kordzi, Isaac Agyenim Boateng, Suraj Seidu and Salim Adams were included.

Ghana’s sole representative in the competition, Hearts of Oak will begin their campaign with Guinean top-flight outfit CI Kamsar next month.
