2022 WCQ: We have a blend of good squad for the future – Captain Andre Ayew

Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has expressed his satisfaction with Ghana current squad.

The senior national team will face Ethiopia for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday, September 3.

Ayew spoke at the pre-match press conference for the game against the Walia Ibex.

According to the Al Sadd man, the Black Stars have a group of players to compete now and for the future.

“It’s nice to have a blend of youth and experienced players in the squad. The new guys have talent and quality and the blend is good for the team.

“We won’t be here forever. Just like some of us had seniors who guided us when we came, we will do same for them.”

Head coach Charles Akonnor will look up to the experienced Ayew to lead his charges as Ghana competes for another World Cup appearance after missing out in Russia 2018.

The game will be played at 19.00GMT Ghana time.
The Black Stars will fly to play their second Group G game against South Africa on Monday, September 6 in Johannesburg.
