The director of football for Hammarby IF, Jesper Jansson has backed new signing David Accam to provide a major squad boost for the team in the upcoming 2021 Swedish football season.
The Swedish top-flight club on Thursday announced that they have completed the signing of the Ghana attacker on loan from Major League Soccer outfit Nashville SC.
Speaking on the new signing, Jesper Jansson says he has no doubt David Accam will be an asset for the team.
“I know David very well both as a player and as a person, and if we can lift him to the level he has in him, we get a quality player who will contribute a lot both on the field and in the group,” the director of football for Hammarby IF said as quoted on the club’s website.
Jesper Jansson continued, “We believe that he can add another dimension to our offensive game, and we are convinced that he will make a strong role model, especially for our younger African players. With the advantageous agreement structure, we have plenty of time to get David in shape, and also to evaluate the future option during the spring.”
David Accam, 30, signed a one-year loan deal with Hammarby IF but could be signed permanently if he excels at the end of the period.
