Provide decent jobs for the youth – Protesting NDC Youth to Akufo-Addo

The Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding that President Akufo-Addo must fulfil his promise to provide decent jobs for the youth of the country.

This is contained in a petition to the President of the Republic of Ghana after the youth embarking on the ‘March for Justice’ protest on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, in Accra.

Prior to the protest today, the NDC Youth Wing explained that the demonstration has become necessary to serve as a wake-up call to the President and his government to stand against the insecurity and lawlessness being experienced in the country.

At the end of a protest that saw members of the NDC Youth Wing and aggrieved Ghanaians taking to the streets, a petition has been filed with key demands from President Akufo-Addo.

Among many other things, the NDC wants the President to provide decent jobs for the unemployed youth in the country.

“Make provisions towards providing decent jobs for the teeming youth of the Country through proper structural economic reforms and business support for enterprises of young people,” part of the petition to the president reads.

In addition, the Youth Wing of the NDC is demanding that the President take steps to fulfill campaign promises to the good people of Ghana and be respectful and truthful to the citizenry.
