Youth and Sports Minister cuts sod for Brong Ahafo multi-purpose Youth Centre

Dormaa Ahenkro – Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the Minister for Youth and Sports, has cut sod for work to commence on a 5,000 seating capacity multi-purpose Youth Centre at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Asiamah said the estimated GH 7 million project forms part of government’s agenda to create jobs and empower the youth through sports infrastructure and development, which has the opportunity to train and harness talents for the country.

The project, which is being done across all ten regions in the country would comprise of a FIFA-standard football pitch, an eight-lane athletic track, a tennis, basketball and handball court , a gym, counselling centre, a youth ICT centre, an entrepreneurship centre and a modern restaurant.

Mr Asiamah said, it was important for his ministry to partner with the National Youth Authority (NYA) to create an enabling environment through infrastructure for generations to enjoy and to produce national athletes and entrepreneurs.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Nana Agyemang Badu II, Life Patron of Aduana Stars and the King of Dormaa congratulated President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo and the sports minister for earmarking Dormaa in the Brong Ahafo region for the project, as it would help the youth to learn and exhibit their talents in so many fields.

I am particularly enthused with the President of the Republic and the Sports Minister for remembering the people of this area.

We know this would go a long way to help curb some social vices and also help to develop talents for this country and I urge all citizens to give their all to make sure this project goes on successfully and completes on time.

According to the life patron of Aduana stars, the project which would be completed within nine months would also create jobs for the people of Dormaa and its environs since majority of the people would be hired in areas like masonry, carpentry, brick laying and many more.
