Works starts on Tetrefu Community Health Centre expansion

Tetrefu (Ash) Refurbishment and expansion works on the Tetrefu Community Health Centre in the Bosomtwe District to improve the quality of care has commenced.

On completion, it would have the capacity to admit patients and become properly equipped to deal with cases.

Sankofa Franco Ghana Association (SFGA) – a France-based philanthropic organization is providing the funding and this is in response to an appeal made to it by the community.

The facility has not only been serving the people in the community but other nearby villages.

It has over the years not seen any rehabilitation – left in disrepair and it is against this background that the SFGA’s intervention should be seen as significant.

Mr. Joseph Kwasi Assuming, the District Chief Executive (DCE), at a ceremony to mark the official start of the construction works, pledged the support of the district assembly.

It was ready to provide any needed assistance to ensure that there was access to quality healthcare.

The road leading to the area would also be put into good shape to bring some comfort to the people.

Mr. Enock Otabil, SFGA Ghana representative, said the facility would be able to offer varied services to improve the health of the people, especially women and children, after completion.

Dr. Moses Barima, District Health Director, called for the people to ensure environmental cleanliness and adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent diseases.
