Accra- Mr Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, has presented some income-generating items to 17 Persons With Disability (PWDs) in the Municipality.
The items, which were for
the first batch of beneficiaries, included; deep freezers, knitting machines,
heat pressing machines, bicycle spare parts, fufu pounding operating machines,
assorted diapers, wipes and soft drinks.
They were meant to support the PWDs in
income-generation ventures to help uplift their standards of living.
The Assembly also refunded an amount of GHC1,756
paid as medical bills for Madam Janet Frimpong and an amount of GHC1,426 and
GHC1,770 to Mr Duah Justice Kwabena and Richard Kotey respectively as school
fees and for school items of all PWDs.
The recipients were also given some of the
relief food items meant for the vulnerable households.
Mr Kumor advised the PWDs to adhere strictly to
the coronavirus prevention protocols.
Madam Frimpong on behalf of the beneficiaries
thanked the Municipal Assembly for the kind gesture and assured the assembly of
working hard with what they were given for their survival.
