Weija-Gbawe MP Inspects Stalled STEM School Project at Upper Weija


Weija-gbawe: The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shiab, inspected the stalled construction works on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) School project at Upper Weija. The inspection, which took place on Friday, November 15, 2025, highlighted ongoing concerns about delays affecting the project’s progress. The initiative, which commenced under the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, aims to provide modern educational facilities to the youth in the area.

According to Ghana Web, the MP emphasized the importance of completing the STEM school to promote education in these crucial fields, describing it as ‘an essential foundation for national development in this era of innovation and technology.’ The visit was part of a broader effort to evaluate the current state of the project and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify practical steps for its timely completion.

The MP reiterated his dedication to developing a robust educati
onal ecosystem that prepares young people with the necessary skills to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment. He assured constituents of his continued efforts to expedite the resumption and completion of the STEM school, which is currently 77 percent complete. He noted that he has engaged with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrissu, to ensure the project’s swift completion to benefit the residents of Weija.
