Wassa Amenfi Central NCCE Collaborates with Inter-Faith Organizations for Peaceful Elections.

Wassa Amenfi Central: The Wassa Amenfi Central District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Western Region has engaged religious bodies in the district to preach peace before, during, and after the December 7 polls.

According to Ghana News Agency, the engagement was conducted under the theme: ‘Together we can build so get involved,’ focusing on ensuring peaceful campaigns, political tolerance, money in politics, fighting dis/misinformation, and addressing tribalism. Mr. Anthony Kelvin Amoo, the Wassa Amenfi Central District Director of NCCE, highlighted the significant role of inter-faith organizations in promoting peace and unity, emphasizing the importance of their involvement in ensuring a violence-free 2024 election.

Mr. Amoo stressed that religious tolerance is crucial for the country’s development, urging faith-based organizations to act as ambassadors of peace in their communities. He remarked that without peace, development is unattainable, and encouraged everyo
ne to spread the message of peace, especially during such crucial times.

He also appealed to the youth to refrain from being exploited by politicians for selfish gains that could potentially destabilize the nation. In addition to these engagements, the Wassa Amenfi Central NCCE, in partnership with the Business Advisory Centre in the district, organized a peace walk with the Hairdressers Association to further promote the peace message among residents.
