Wa The National Youth Authority (NYA) has observed the 2018 Africa Youth Day in Wa with a call on the youth to spearhead the fight against bribery and corruption which is undermining national growth and development.

The event, which was held under the theme: The youth and the fight against corruption, attracted several stakeholders including students, youth groups, politicians and civil society organizations among others.

Addressing the attendees, Mr Mumuni Sulemana, Upper West Regional Director of NYA, said the Authority has inaugurated and funded a Youth Parliament in the Region to advocate the fight against corruption.

The Youth Parliament was tasked with the responsibility of formulating policies that would empower young men and women to resist corruption as well as report its practices to appropriate authorities.

Mr Mumuni called on the youth to actively partake in the fight against corruption as the menace and its attendant negative consequences obstruct socio-economic development.
