ACCRA: Ghanaian residents seeking visas to the United Kingdom can now utilize the services of VFS Global, which has been awarded the contract to provide UK visa services in 142 countries, including Ghana. The new Visa Application Centre in Accra offers enhanced services for applicants, effective October 22, 2024.
According to Ghana News Agency, George Cherian, a representative of VFS Global, announced that Ghanaian customers would be directed to VFS Global to book appointments and complete their visa applications. VFS Global provides a range of optional services designed to streamline the application process, enhancing the overall experience for applicants.
Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the company’s long-standing collaboration with UK Visas and Immigration since 2003. “We are excited to embark on this new journey with UK Visas and Immigration here in Ghana,” he said, emphasizing the introduction of best-in-class services for
Ghanaian travelers.
The optional services offered by VFS Global include document upload assistance, Prime Time application submissions outside business hours, SMS notifications, document checking service, and courier return of passports. Additionally, the On Demand Mobile Visa service allows applicants to submit their applications from preferred locations, such as their home or office.
The “Keep My Passport While Applying” service enables applicants to retain their passports after submission and biometric enrollment, requiring resubmission only when a decision is reached. These services can be booked in advance at the Visa Application Centre and do not affect the processing timeline or outcomes of visa applications.
VFS Global, a partner of UK Visas and Immigration since 2003, previously offered services in 58 countries. With the new contract, it will now extend its services to 142 countries globally, including 31 countries in the African region, starting in October 2024.
