Two organisations donate office equipment to NADMO

Wa, Two benevolent organisations in the Wa Municipality have donated office equipment to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NDMO) to help enhance its efficient operations.

The organisations, T.A Tanko Motors and Azimpet Limited donated air conditioners, wheel chairs, executive desk tables and chairs, visitors sitting chairs, a refrigerator and a glass centre table to NADMO at short ceremony in Wa.

The items, which cost about 20,000 Ghana Cedis, would help facilitate the operations of the organisation.

Presenting the items to Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Mr Aziz Abdul Rahman, a representative of the companies, said the provision of the equipment was as a result of a request made by Mr Seidu Issahaku Suleman, the newly appointed Upper West Regional Director of NADMO for assistance.

He said a visit to the Regional Office of NADMO, showed that it was poorly equipped hence the provision of the items, which they considered as their social responsibility towards the excellent operations of the organisation.

Mr Issahaku thanked the companies for the kind gesture and appealed to other benevolent organisations and public spirited individuals to support NADMO to complement government efforts.

He urged NADMO to utilise the items for the purpose they were acquired, while it also intensified its education on disaster prevention in the communities to save lives and property.

Mr Suleman who received the items, said the regional and district offices of NDMO were faced with challenges of office equipment and office accommodation.

‘The few that had offices were faced with congestion challenges and some the offices were not also connected to electricity impeding quality work delivery.’

The Regional NADMO Director called for more assistance from individuals and charitable organisations while appealing to the Regional Coordinating Council and district assemblies to provide office accommodation to the organisation.
