Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Ltd donates to Pantang Hospital

Accra, The Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited (TPL), in collaboration with Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, has donated assorted medication worth GH30,000.00 to the Pantang Hospital to mark the United Nation’s International Day of Charity.

The items included 750 bottles of Alvite Blood Tonic, 750 Wormee-4 Albendazole Oral Suspension, 30 boxes of Medicam Anti-bacterial soap, 500 bottles Kofof Cough Syrup, Mucotin Child Expectorant Syrup, and Gsunate-200 Artesunate Suppositories.

Mr Christopher Mensah, the Head of Marketing of TPL, who presented the medication, said with support from other subsidiaries of the Tobinco Group of Companies, the medication was procured for the Hospital after hearing its plea.

He said the public had shown loyalty to the Group over the years and, therefore, it found it necessary to give back to society in the same measure.

Mr Mensah said private entities like the Tobinco Group of Companies must support needy members of the public since the Government could not cater for their health needs alone.

Mr Frank Sevor, the Pharmacist of the Hospital, who received the items, said: We are very grateful for this benevolent act. In fact, these medicines are really needed here. The blood tonic will go a long way in serving our patients who are anaemic and the anti-malarial drugs would help management the acute malaria of patients.

He said the de-wormers would support the patients who needed routine deworming treatments.

Mr Sevor said the medication would be sent to the Stores for inventory adding that the various units of the Hospital would be urged to put in a requisition for the medication they needed based on management approval.

He encouraged other organisations to emulate the example of Tobinco to enable the Hospital to take better care of patients.

Some of our clients are vagrant and have no families to cater for them, thereby leaving the Hospital with no option than to raise funds to cater for their needs, he said.
