“Time to make Ghana proud again” – SWAG tells Dogboe

Accra – The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has called on boxer Isaac Dogboe to make Ghana proud again, as he takes on Jesse Mgadaleno for the World Boxing Authority (WBO) Super Bantamweight title on Saturday April 28, 2018 in Phildelphia, USA.

A statement from the secretariat said, we believe in you as a great warrior of Ghana and Africa and that is why you are the Rising Star of Africa and the Royal Storm.

The media and people of Ghana know you have what it takes to be like D. K. Poison, Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Nana Yaw Konadu, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko, Joshua Clottey and Emmanuel Tagoe because you are Ghanaian, it added.

We know motivated enough for this crucial assignment and we believe in your ability to deliver the much sought after world title for Ghana.

This is definitely the right moment to make proud again and we have no doubt that, you would go all out.

Magadaleno would definitely not be a walk over, but your remarkable fitness level, endurance would see you through this challenge, it added.

Dogboe, is in contention for the footballer of the year award category at the 43rd MTN SWAG Awards fixed for May 4th at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
