Tagoe, Saucedo set for weigh-in on Friday
Accra, The weigh-in of the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) World Lightweight championship bout, dubbed Defend to Glory between Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Tagoe and his Argentine compatriot, Fernando David Saucedo has been fixed for Friday, January 26, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The weigh-in, which would commence at 10:00am, would have the two boxers mounting the scale to confirm their weights, a day ahead of the crucial bout.
Tagoe’s opponent, Saucedo, arrived in Ghana with his team on Wednesday night, ahead of the fight at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, January 27.
Team Saucedo are currently lodging at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
Tagoe (27-1, 13 KOs) would be making his first defence of his IBO Lightweight belt against the experienced Argentine, for the first time in over a year, with injuries and other technical issues ensuring he has not fought after defeating Mzonke Fana of South Africa back in December 2016 by a unanimous decision.
Saucedo is a former two-time world title challenger, who was initially scheduled to have faced Tagoe in a first defence of the title by the Ghanaian in July but pulled out at the last minute.
