Swiss Photographer donates camera to Volta GJA
Ho- Mr Phillipe Kradolfer, a Swiss Photographer, has donated a professional Nikon D700 FX camera with accessories worth G5,000.00 to the Volta Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association.
The donation was in fulfillment of a promise by Mr Kradolfer to the Association at the launch of the 2018 Volta Journalists awards in Ho.
He commended the media for efforts at promoting good governance and the socioeconomic development of the Region and promised to sponsor the Tourism category of the regional awards next year with photography equipment and training.
Mr Kradolfer said Volta Region has unique features that caught the eye of tourists and arts enthusiasts, and encouraged the media to help promote the tourism potential of the Region.
Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, Chairman, Volta GJA, who received the gadget, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Association, and said the donation would be put to the most rewarding use.
Mr Kradolfer who was recently enstooled, as a development Chief of Agortime Kpetoe, in the Volta Region, has been touring festivals in the Region since 2014 with his wife Regula, producing and distributing albums packaged into high quality photo books.
He produced his first catalogue, the random photos of “Ghana Everyday Life” in 2014, and in 2015 followed it with “The Kente Festival”, which captured the fabric weaving celebrations of the people of Agortime Kpetoe.
Other works by the photographer include “Asogli Yam Festival, released in 2016, and also the “Ghanaian Recycled Glass Beads”, a 2017 album on the indigenous glass bead making process.
He released “Unveiling the Volta Region” in 2018, and hinted of plans to tour other regions in the country for similar projects.
