Stakeholders Urged to Support Educational Infrastructure in Twifo Atti Morkwa

Twifo Atti Morkwa: Mrs. Augustina Atakorah, the District Director of Education, has called on stakeholders to support the enhancement of educational infrastructure within the district. Highlighting the urgent need for resources, she pointed out the significant challenges the district faces in terms of school facilities.

According to Ghana News Agency, during a presentation by Mr. Isaac Yawson, the District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti Morkwa, Mrs. Atakorah emphasized the critical situation. Mr. Yawson presented building materials to the Otweykurom community after a rainstorm destroyed a 60-year-old classroom structure constructed by the local community. Mrs. Atakorah appealed to philanthropists and corporate institutions to help build a new school structure for the community.

In her address, Mrs. Atakorah also advised students to avoid drug use and focus on their education. She urged parents to take responsibility for guiding their children and counseling them against drug abuse and other social vices.

Mr. Yawson stressed that government efforts alone are not enough to foster the country’s advancement. He urged NGOs to join the mission of enhancing educational facilities in the district.

Nana John Deku, the Odikro of Otweykurom, noted that the community has been deprived of essential educational infrastructure necessary for the proper education of their children. He appealed to the government and NGOs to assist in creating a conducive educational environment for the children in the community.
