Accra, A communique has been signed by the stakeholders of the New Times Corporation (NTC) for the amicable settlement of the industrial action between the workers, the Board and Management.
The communique was signed by Ms Ivy Austin, the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr Solomon Kotei, the General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) and copied to the Chairman of the National Media Commission and the Chairman of the National Labour Commission.
It said that the issues that culminated in the upheaval should be amicably settled by due process and by that arrangement immediate normalcy was expected to return to the NTC.
It said the Union, particularly, should take steps to ensure that sanity prevailed on the premises of the NTC and that the Board of Directors and Management should ensure that the concerns of the workers were fully addressed through due process.
The communique said no worker should be victimised as a result of the industrial action.
This came about following a meeting held on Friday, September 22, 2017, on the developments that took place from Monday, September 18, 2017 involving the workers of the Corporation, the Board of Directors, Management and the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union representing the workers of NTC.
