Accra, Mr Matthew Addai, the Manager of Asante Kotoko prolific striker, Songe Yocouba, has said, the player will return to Ghana on Friday, November 16, after recovering from illness.
In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr Addai popularly known as “Fiko Darling” said, he was currently in Burkina with the player and they were looking forward to return to Ghana on Friday.
“We planned to flying to Ghana on Thursday, but unfortunately there was no flight, until Monday so we will come to Ghana on Friday, State Transport Corporation (STC) bus,” he said.
The manager also refuted allegations that, Kotoko was owing the player hence his absence from training.
“Kotoko is not owning Songe Yocuba and the player is very happy with club. He did not leave Ghana because of money,” he stated.
Mr Addai said, the player had recovered from a serious sickness that kept him long in his country (Burkina) after traveling to spend his 10 days break given to him by the club.
Yacouba has become the first choice striker for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club after netting 11 times in 13 appearances for the team.
Kotoko would play a friendly with Medeama Sporting Club ahead in Sekondi -Essipong Sports Stadium ahead of their Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederation cup tournament preparations.
