The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to address officiating issues in the local league if it wants to attract investors.

The Ghana FA since coming into office in 2019 has made several engagements in its efforts to get investors to pump money into the local league.

With discussions failing to bear fruits, the local leagues in the last two seasons have remained without headline sponsors as clubs continue to cry for financial support.

Speaking to Angel TV in an interview, Ghanaian Parliamentarian Sam George has lectured the GFA on how to woo investors.

“The FA should not be calling for investors into the league. They need to clean up the mess in the league and the investment will automatically come,” Sam George said.

The Ningo Prampram MP further quizzed, “How do I invest in a league where referees are substandard and match-fixing is rife?”

Checks from sources close to the Ghana FA has revealed that the leadership is in talks with a number of investors.

The GFA hopes to secure headline sponsors for the local leagues before the start of the 2022/23 season.
