Owner and bankroller of AshantiGold SC, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has urged the fans of the club to remain calm while they wait for the final verdict of their case filed at the Human Rights Court.
The Miners were demoted into the second division for allegedly playing matca h of convenience with Inter Allies in match-week 34 of the 2020/21 GPL season.
A lengthy investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] led to the suspension of Dr. Kwaku Frimpong and his son who happens to be the club’s CEO, Emmanuel Frimpong from all football-related activities for the next 10 and 8 years respectively.
However, Dr. Frimpong has filed an injunction against the GFA and has assured all football fans to remain very calm and wait for the court to pass their judgment on October 14.
“God is fighting for us, let us all remain calm and wait for the court to pass its rightful judgment,” he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“It is only the court that can decide whether the GFA has the power to ban Ashgold, please remember that the courts of our land are more powerful than any other body including Ghana Football Association [GFA].
“I can’t go into the substantive matter because I do not want to be cited for contempt of court. The court will give justice to all Ghanaians who have been cheated by the GFA.
“Ashgold fans should remain calm and wait for the decision of the court because it is only at the court that the real truth will be told and justice is done,” he added.
The GFA announced on Thursday they have banned AshantiGold SC for dealing with banned Dr. Frimpong and his son, Emmanuel Frimpong.
